Brief Biography
Mary Lindsey, Ph.D., is an Assistant in Technical Assistance and the Director of the Florida HIPPY Training and Technical Assistance Center in the department of Child and family Studies, Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute, University of South Florida. She has an Ed.S. and M.Ed. in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. Her expertise is in the field of early childhood education with an emphasis on parental involvement in their children's education, and mobilizing community resources to support the education of children "at risk" of school failure. Through the Home Instruction Program for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY), she supervises programs throughout the state of Florida and served as the director for the HIPPYCorps initiative, which is a project of the AmeriCorps National Service Program. In addition, she has served on a number of boards including the H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center and Research Institute, Communities and Schools Board of Directors, Community Advocates or Resources for Education and Social Services and Project Achieve. She is the mother of two grown children, David and April.
