Joanne Herrygers
Brief Biography
B.A. in Economics, State University of New York at Stony Brook, with certification in systems analysis and quality assurance.
Joanne has a passion for process improvement, quality and service developed during over 30 years of management experience. As Director of Systems for a telecommunications company, she centralized a support function across business units in three states to meet cost and quality objectives while improving client satisfaction and employee morale. She developed a proprietary software estimating method that was selected for presentation at an international conference in Rome, Italy. She also served as member and chairperson of the New York Inter-Company Insurance Arbitration Committee with approximately three hundred members. As a volunteer management consultant for the Executive Service Corps of Tampa Bay and the Management Assistance Program, she assisted non-profits with strategic and tactical planning, quality improvement, and implementation.
In 2001, Joanne joined the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute (FMHI) to apply her corporate experience for the purpose of improving social programs. She conducted case studies on the Systems of Care Practice Review and the Transition to Independence Process (TIP) System. She also trained national sites on how to conduct the System of Care Practice Review. In 2003, Joanne joined the National Center on Youth Transition at FMHI where she participated in the Partners in Youth Transition grant. There she designed fidelity assessment processes, developed assessment instruments, and conducted assessments at national TIP demonstration sites.
Since 2007, Joanne has been a coordinator on the Florida Suicide Prevention Implementation Project where she is using her experience in project management, mental health research, fidelity assessment, training, and management consulting to help communities implement the Florida Suicide Prevention Strategy.
