Brief Biography

Eloise Boterf is a Program Planner Analyst for the GEAR UP Program which is a grant funded program in the division of TREaD in the Department of Child and Family Studies. GEAR UP stands for Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs. Her primary responsibilities include connecting family members to the GEAR UP Program and accessing community resources to aid in the implementation of the grant services. Her job tasks include contacting parents to inform them about available services for youth in the GEAR UP Program; collaboratin with community businesses and organizations to provide services to GEAR UP students; secure donations from community businesses and organizations to aid in the implementation of the grant; and to plan and coordinate Saturday Programs for both Partents and Students being served through the grant. Ms. Boterf works together as a team with the other staff of GEAR UP to accomplish these tasks.

In addition, Ms. Boterf works in the division of State and Local Support in the Department of Child and Family Studies on Study 6 of the Research and Training Center. She is responsible for researching, locating, and adding organizations to the web based Directory of Family-Run and Youth Guided Organizations for Children's Mental Health. Her duties include finding family-run organizations through the internet, and via other family-run organizations; contacting the organizations to determine if they are appropiate for the directory and want to be included, entering the family-run organization's information into the directory; and monitoring any additions made by the family-run organizations directly to the website. Ms. Boterf also worked with other staff on the Study 6 grant to develop a self-assessment guide for the family-run organizations.
