Child Welfare Prepaid Mental Health Plan (CW-PMHP) Evaluation
Through a combination of three study components (implementation analysis, mail survey, and quality of care study) researchers are examining the extent to which the mental health needs of children in Florida’s child welfare system are being met by the CW-PMHP.
Community Defined Evidence Project
This project continues efforts to eliminate disparities in behavioral health for the Latino population. It will develop measurement criteria to find what really works for Latinos within the context of their own communities and culture.
Decreasing Adolescent Suicidality through a Multiple Component Suicide Prevention Program: Linking Adolescents at Risk to Mental Health Services
This project will be used to evaluate and refine the suicide prevention program at several high schools in the Albuquerque Public Schools system. It will provide an opportunity to evaluate the implementation and outcome of a Multiple Component Suicide Prevention Program (MCSPP) across several large urban schools with large Hispanic and Native American populations (two groups at very high risk of adolescent suicidality).
Evaluation of Florida Community-Based Care and Residential Group Care
This evaluation examines Community-Based Care (CBC), the outsourcing of child welfare services in Florida. Special attention is paid to child and family outcomes, service quality, and cost. Across components, the analysis covers the 20 lead agencies and 22 service contracts operational in Florida's 67 counties. The evaluation is organized by a set of research questions regarding the effectiveness of Community-Based Care.
Evaluation of Mental Health/Behavioral Health Services in Schools
These evaluation efforts include Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiatives in Florida and Georgia, as well as GEAR UP evaluations in Florida.
Evaluation of the Comprehensive CMHS for Children and Their Families
The Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services (CMHS) Program for Children and Their Families strives to improve the delivery of mental health services to children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances and their families. In order to determine the effectiveness of the programs CMHS has funded a national, cross-site evaluation since 1994. Macro International Inc. and its partners, including CFS, conduct the evaluation, designed to maintain accountability and address the pressing need for information upon which to base programmatic, funding, and policy decisions.
Evidence-based Intervention for Severe Behavior Problems:The Prevent-Teach-Reinforce (PTR) Model
CFS is using a randomized control group design to evaluate a tertiary school-based intervention model being implemented in Tampa, Florida and Colorado schools for students having severe behavior problems.
Examining the Potential Efficacy of a Classroom Wide Intervention for Promoting Social Emotional Development and Addressing Challenging Behavior in Preschool Children with and without Disabilities
Family Heritage Project: A Kinship Support Program of Family Resources, Inc.
The objectives of this grant are to provide support to relatives who have become the caregivers of children whose biological parents are affected by HIV/AIDS in Pinellas County, Florida. By providing support to these caregivers, it is anticipated that the children affected will reside in safer, more permanent homes.
Florida Center for Inclusive Communities-UCEDD
The Florida Center for Inclusive Communities - UCEDD provides services and supports to assist in minimizing disparities in health care, enhance educational opportunities, develop work skills, and enrich daily living for people with disabilities, their families, and communities. Center staff work with individuals with disabilities, members of their families, state and local government agencies, and community providers in projects designed to increase independence, productivity, and community integration for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
