Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters

Description

The Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) Program is a home-based, early intervention/school readiness program that helps educationally disadvantaged parents provide educational enrichment for their preschool children aged 3-5. Funded by the Florida Legislature, The Florida HIPPY Training and Technical Assistance Center, housed at USF, serves as the state office. The role of the state office is to work in collaboration with HIPPY USA's national office in New York to provide training, technical support, and guidance to all of the HIPPY programs in the state of Florida.

A total of approximately 1800 children will participate in Florida HIPPY programs in the program year 2007-08 out of approximately 18,000 served nationwide.
