Florida Community Based Care Partnership Project
Description
The Florida Community-Based Care Partnership Project staff will share resources and expertise that will promote and facilitate community ownership related to child welfare services and Community-Based Care (CBC). This project assists the Department of Children and Families and local communities with meeting statutory requirements to privatize foster care and related services, with particular emphasis on start-up and transition activities. Tasks will include:
*On-site technical assistance to members of Community Alliances, Department employees, lead agencies, and other key Stakeholders in the areas of local capacity building for transition to community-based care and the development of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (Ql) mechanisms.
*Work with the Department's Community-Based Care office to establish procedures to respond to technical assistance requests.
*Prepare Districts/Regions and Community-Based Care agencies for a Peer Review for Readiness Assessment using approved training curriculum and materials
*Coordinate Quality Assurance Peer Review Team site visits for all Community-Based Care projects scheduled to execute a full CBC services contract during the period July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005.
*Complete and submit Peer Review Team Reports, in which an assessment of strengths and needs are identified, and recommendations for activities necessary to be completed by the district and CBC agency are identified prior to certification of readiness.
*Research, develop and deploy a department approved Management Review Team process and procedure to include progressive intervention strategies and provide department approved training to Team members.
*Develop and maintain the Florida Community-Based Care Technical Assistance Portal. The TA Portal is a Web-based system that allows Community-Based Care providers and DCF staff to quickly find or request technical assistance information, training, or support. The TA Portal site is located at http://cbcta.fmhi.usf.edu/.
