2009 USF-Community Engagement Research Conference to be held September 25, 2009

The 2009 USF-Community Engagement Research Conference will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Children's Board of Hillsborough County.  The conference will provide an opportunity to discover and discuss the results of the Collaborative's 2008-2009 faculty grant research projects.

Attendees are invited to take part in discussions in three subject areas of their choice during the conference.  Registration and topic selections are requested in advance (by 09-22-2009) as seating is limited. 

The event Agenda is:

  • 8:00 am - Registration/Networking - Continental Breakfast
  • 8:30 am - Welcome & Opening Comments: University-Community Partnerships; Dr. Junius Gonzales (Chair, USF Collaborative); Valerie Goddard (Chair, Children's Board of Hillsborough County); Evangeline Best (Chair, East Tampa Community Revitalization Partnership)
  • 9:00 am - 1st Round of World Cafe* Sessions
  • 10:00 am - 2nd Round of World Cafe* Sessions
  • 11:00 am - 3rd Round of World Cafe* Sessions
  • NOON - Closing Session & Feedback: Lessons Learned & Next Steps  ~  Susan Greenbaum (Director, USF Center for Community Engagement)

 

*A World Café is participatory workshop format where presenters give the highlights of their research in
10-15 minutes, and the participants then talk about the importance of the research to the community, potential
application & desires for additional research & follow-up projects.
