CFS Staff Look Into the Missing Link Between Research and Practice
Authors Dean Fixsen, Sandra Naoom, Karen Blase and Frances Wallace profile implementation – the art and science of incorporating innovations into human service settings to benefit children, families, and communities – with the goal of enabling readers to use the products of research more rapidly and more effectively. Implementation: The Missing Link
Between Research and Practice explores the challenges
and strategies related to implementation of evidence-based treatment
interventions into
direct practice and reveals findings from a recent comprehensive
review of implementation evaluation literature conducted by the authors.
A synthesis of the literature
is included, as well as recommendations for viewing the methods needed
to make better use of science in human service settings. Some effective
implementation practices found in the review are also highlighted. For additional information, contact the National Implementation Research Network.
