New Director Announced for USF Master's Degree Program in
Applied Behavior Analysis

Raymond Miltenberger has been selected as director of the USF Master's Degree Program in Applied Behavior Analysis. The program is designed to meet the growing needs in Florida and nationally for practitioners who can work effectively in a variety of fields including education, developmental disabilities, child protective services, mental health, residential supports and rehabilitation and other agencies working with individuals who require intensive behavioral services and/or consultation.

Dr. Miltenberger will bring much experience from his current position as Professor of Psychology and Director of Clinical Training in the master's program at North Dakota State University. He has over 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and numerous chapters in edited texts, and is also author of a behavior modification textbook entitled Behavior Modification: Principles and Procedures, which is now in its 3rd edition. Miltenberger has received various awards including the Western Michigan University Distinguished Alumnus Award (in 2000) and the Chamber of Commerce NDSU Distinguished Professor Award (in 2001).

" Dr. Miltenberger is a prolific researcher and author,” said Robert Friedman, Chair of the Department of Child & Family Studies at the USF Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute. “He is a national leader in behavior analysis and modification, and will be a great complement to the talented faculty we have here at USF and the Institute."

Designed to prepare students to become nationally certified behavior analysts by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB), the interdisciplinary program provides coursework across three colleges at USF - the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, and the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute.
