author of the highly acclaimed book “The Power of Positive Parenting.” The
course, Tools for Positive Behavior Change, will teach strategies
based on solid behavioral principles that originated in research conducted

60 years and have been proven to be effective. The principles and strategies
taught apply to individuals of all ages, with or without disabilities, and
in a variety of settings.
“Parents and professionals who want to understand how to foster appropriate
behavior and maintain a positive encouraging relationship should consider participating
in this valuable series,” said course leader Amanda Keating.
The Tools classes will be held at Family FUNdamentals in Lakeland on Thursdays
from 9am-12pm starting May 19th and continuing for 8 weeks. Although this curriculum
typically costs between 250-500 dollars per person to attend, it is available
free to CARD constituents and community partners. Other interested parties
are encouraged to inquire about additional space within classes. Upon completion
of the course, certificates of participation and/or competency will be awarded
to each participant.
