Adoption Summer School went on the road in summer of 2001. This training series was designed to help communities meet the needs of adoptive families. It examined critical attachment issues and their relationship to developmental states that children undergo after adoption.

Since attachment problems are among the major causes of adoption problems, professionals found these lessons especially pertinent to their work with adoptive families and children. On a special day for adoptive families, parents spent time with a national expert in adoption, learning new ways to help their adoptive child connect with a new family.

We are pleased to continue to offer training material from this initiative. We hope you find them useful.
